About

Aoidos emerged in 2019, among mugs of mead at the iconic Taberna 58, in Coimbra.

The result of a mix of influences, from Death and Gojira to Behemoth and Watain, the band's sound seeks to combine the weight and groove of Death Metal with the dark ambiences and cutting melodies of Black Metal, alongside classical piano compositions.

Aoidos are on the rise, with 1 albu, 5 singles andmore than 20 concerts since 2023, including a tour that spanned Portugal and Spain.

With performances at festivals like Bajonca Rock Fest and MosherFest, the band secured 2nd place in the Laurus Metal Battle, guaranteeing their participation in the Laurus Nobilis Music Fest in 2024.

They have released their debut album, to critical acclaim, which explores the human experience of anxiety and depression. Get ready for a deep and impactful musical experience!

“Aoidos” means bards in Ancient Greek, and like the bards of old, our purpose is to tell stories, but through the Dark Arts of Metal!

Aoidos strive to create a rich and textural soundscape that embraces the fierce energy of death and ethereality of black metal.

To date, the band have taken to stages around South West Europe, including festival appearances at Bajonca Rock Fest, Rock dos Romanos, Mosher Fest, Melena Fest, Laurus Nobilis Music Festival, where they shared the bill with VADER, SEPTICFLESH and MOONSPELL and, most recently, at Assembleia do Metal.

Now with a critically acclaimed debut, AOIDOS have set their eyes on the future and are already working on new music and preparing themselves for a new slew of live shows.
